Focus Group & Weekly Report Preferences

Governing language. This document is written in English and the English version is the original and legally binding version. Translations into other languages are provided for convenience only and are generated by DeepL machine translation. In the event of any inconsistency or dispute between a translated version and the English original, the English version shall prevail.
Zensus ("we", "us") would like to send you occasional emails. This document tells you exactly what those emails are, how to stop them at any time, and how we handle your email address when sending them.
This consent is entirely optional. Refusing it has no effect on your account and does not remove any app feature.
1. What we send
If you consent, you may receive:
1.1 Your weekly nutrition report A personalised summary of your nutrition for the past week — your calorie totals, macronutrient breakdown, and any targets you set. This is sent on a regular weekly schedule. It contains your own data only and is generated directly from your Zensus account.
1.2 Focus group & product feedback invitations Occasional emails inviting you to take part in user research — surveys, interviews, beta testing, or focus groups — and direct messages from Zensus staff or admins who want to hear from you about how you use the app. These are genuine requests for your input, not promotional content.
We do not send sponsored content, third-party advertising, affiliate marketing, discount offers, or brand partnership promotions. We do not share your email address with any advertiser or brand partner.
2. How your email is used
Your email address is transmitted to Mailgun (a Sinch company), our email delivery provider, solely for the purpose of sending you the emails described in §1 above. Mailgun acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement and may not use your email address for its own purposes.
Mailgun is headquartered in the United States. Transfers from the UK and EU to Mailgun are made under Standard Contractual Clauses (UK IDTA for UK transfers; EU SCCs for EU transfers) and Mailgun's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
No other third party receives your email address as a result of this consent.
3. Lawful basis
We send these emails on the basis of your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a); EU GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You are free to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of any sending that occurred before withdrawal.
4. How to opt out
You can withdraw consent at any time — no questions asked — in the app: Profile → Notifications → turn off "Focus group emails".
This stops both the weekly report and any focus group invitations immediately. Transactional emails (account verification, password reset, purchase receipts) are unaffected — they are sent regardless of this preference because they are required to operate your account.
